Code Runner
Runs code in a dozen languages from a phone.
Who it is for
Students working through a course, hobbyists, anyone who likes writing code and does not want the idea to wait until a laptop is nearby. The distance between a thought and a running program should be seconds, on the device already in a pocket.
An editor with a Run button
Pick a language — there are a dozen, and they run on real compilers: C++ means GCC, not a browser imitation. The editor keeps line numbers and syntax colouring, and one toolbar carries find, format, reset, stdin and save. Output lands on the same screen the code was written on, so the program and its result are never two places.
- stdin is a button, not a workaround — programs that read input work the way they do everywhere else.
- Save keeps a snippet, and the Saved tab is where half-finished ideas wait for the next bus ride.
